The Kyrgyz State Medical Institute (KSMA) was opened on 1 September 1939 in the city of Bishkek (formerly Frunze), Kyrgyzstan, with the recruitment of 200 students.

This degree is equivalent to MBBS in India. As the college is MCI approved, Indian students will be eligible for sitting for the MCI Screening Test of FMGE. The course duration is 6 years inKyrgyz State Medical Academy and the medium of education will be English. All clinical hospitals atKyrgyz State Medical Academy are equipped to train students.
